We
are an association for young people aged 15 to 30
years old. We organize discussion meetings, weekend
seminars, campaigns, workcamps and also take part in
several international projects. Our members are
mostly high school and university students. Our main
interests are sustainability, nature protection,
human rights and globalization. We have been a
member of the
Federation
of Young European Greens since 2002.
We
have local groups in Praha, Brno and Usti nad Labem.
Our
vision and goals
Environmental
protection and sustainable development
We're
trying to raise awareness of our responsibility
towards the Earth, humankind, and towards ourselves.
We want the sustainable development to become a
common criterion during the decision-making process
of politicians, companies and citizens.
Protection
of the environment and biodiversity is essential for
our future.
Equality
and human rights
We
are convinced that all people should have the same
rights independently of their sex, race, sexual
orientation, ethnicity or religion. Czech Young
Greens will always be against all forms of
discrimination and will support those who work on
reducing it.
Globalization
and solidarity
Czech
Young Greens critically examine current events and
situations in the world; for example the growing
gulf between the North and the South, problems
arising from migration and other negative impacts of
Globalization.
Green
Youth
We
believe youth is the driving power of society and
that young people should be able tounselfishly
pursue, maintain and advocate ideals and ideas.
Therefore we support community involvement and
creative thinking. We want theopinions of the young
to be heard and to be taken seriously.
We
believe in the same ideals from which the so called
green movement in the seventies grew up and we also
believe in the ideas which are being brought into
politics by the current European Green Parties. In
contrast to them though we almost entirely focus on
civil activities and at the same time we maintain
our independence.
We
actively seek the civil and political power to start
solving the problems of our society.
